Iran's reaction to vicious racist attack on Iranian teenager
Iran’s embassy in London condemned a vicious racist attack on an Iranian-Kurdish teenager and emphasized that will pursue the case
“Following the brutal racist attack on the Iranian- Kurdish teenager, in a contact with local authorities we made assure that he hospitalized and his treatment get started,” Iranian embassy said in a statement.
“Unfortunately, he suffered a fractured skull and a blood clot on his brain. Doctors said Monday that the teenager’s injuries were no longer life-threatening and he could be moved from the intensive care unit to a mainstream ward,” the statement added.
“Iranian embassy in London will continue necessary efforts to do any essential action for the young man,” it said.
Police arrested nine people, ranging in age from 17 to 26, over the weekend and another person on Monday in connection with the attack, CNN reported.
Four people were charged with violent disorder and one with violent disorder and racially aggravated grievous bodily harm, police said Monday. Those charged are all in their twenties, police said.
Several Britain politicians and local officials denounced the attack, too.
