Iran: US annual report destructive

Iran said that the US State Department annual report on freedom of religions in Iran is an exaggerated report and a destructive move.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has recognized rights of religious minorities based on its Constitution. All Iranian citizens are equal in terms of using basic rights based on the law,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi.

He said that the recent UN report had already raised concerns about extensive violation of Muslims’ rights in the US.

Iran executes ex-nuclear whistleblower

Iran said that it executed former nuclear whistleblower Shahram Amiri.
“He was sentenced to death in primary court and the sentence was confirmed by Supreme Court, “said Iranian Judiciary Spokesman Hgolam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei in his weekly press conference Sunday.

He said that Amiri was charged with espionage for enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He further continued that Amiri who had access to confidential information about the Islamic Republic of Iran was linked to the enemy and the US, and had given the confidential information to the US.

Iran's Expediency Council Chief Hashemi Rafsanjani Dies at 83

TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of Iran's Expediency Council and two-time president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani died at a Tehran hospital on Sunday.

Hashemi Rafsanjani was rushed to the Tajreesh Martyres Hospital in Northern Tehran after experiencing a heart failure Sunday afternoon.

  "Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani suffered a cardiac arrest at around 18:00 today and was immediately rushed to a Tehran hospital where a team of heart specialists tried hard to resuscitate him for one and a half hours, but unfortunately to no avail," Deputy Health Minister Mohammad Haji Aghajani said in the evening.
